Favorite Disney Small Shops: T-shirts

Written August 2, 2018

I love wearing Disney themed items all the time, even outside of the parks! My favorites are ones that have clever messages or designs. I wanted to put together a list of some of my favorites, but there are so many to cover! These are just a handful of my favorite shops!

I bought this shirt from them because I absolutely loved Moana and it was perfect for when I got to meet her in January! Definitely check out their shop for tons of fun tees and adorable pins!

I adore my Best Day Ever tee from Happily Ever Tees! It has become a staple item in my wardrobe and I bring it with me almost everywhere I go, even if it isn’t Disney! You need to check out her designs, especially the Wishes one! I even want the stars in her design as a tattoo!

D3tees is definitely at the top of my list for guys tees! My boyfriend absolutely loved his American Flag pocket tee and I’ve shown him some of their other designs and we’ve got a list of a few tees that he’ll be getting soon! Although they don’t have this specific pocket available anymore, their new design is just as wonderful!

My final small shop is the wonderful Walt’s Wardrobe! This is my first tank from this shop, so it was only appropriate to wear it for my first RunDisney event since 2006! They have some truly killer designs so be sure to check out their shop!

BONUS SHOP: Jadelynn Brooke

I can’t mention my favorite small shops without including the incredible Jadelynn Brooke. While they don’t completely fall into the Disney small shop category, they have been a part of my travel wardrobe since I became a rep a couple years ago! This sweatshirt has a hilarious story behind it and I’m so excited to share it!
This past December my boyfriend and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary and as an anniversary/ Christmas present (our anniversary is December 23) he surprised me with a trip to Walt Disney World and our first Disney Cruise! When I was packing, he told me to make sure that I packed lots of warm clothes because I get cold very easily, so I did. However he did not, so he had the honor of wearing my Jadelynn Brooke sweater and some very stretchy Victoria Secret yoga pants! Definitely, a special memory and the trip was absolutely one to remember!                           Jadelynn Brooke

DCP Updates

Written November 9, 2017

I’m so sorry I’ve been so MIA for the past few days! School has kept me incredibly busy, and I don’t have a lot of time to create quality content every week, but as the semester is coming to an end I’m hoping to be able to continue updating everyone who reads this blog and give you insight into my life during my DCP!

A lot of exciting things have happened involving my DCP, including my postcard finally arriving! For anyone who is unfamiliar with the DCP, receiving the postcard is a big deal because it means everything is official for you! It’s still very surreal at times knowing that I will actually be spending an entire semester in Walt Disney World, but little things like this help to remind me how lucky I am!

If you didn’t know already, I am currently attending school at Texas A&M University in College Station, which is an incredibly large school, so it’s no surprise that I’m not the only student who will be attending the DCP from my university! One of my best friends from A&M is currently in Orlando working on her Fall DCP, and she has extended into the Spring, which means we’ll get to play in the parks together!
My future roommate, who is also from A&M, added me to a GroupMe that included a bunch of other Aggies and we all planned a little meet-up to get to know each other before we started the program. The photo above is from our dinner date at Chuy’s! This is only about half of the Aggies going to Florida, but I’m so excited to already know a small group of people who I may be working with!
I know this job is going to be a lot of work, but I’m so excited to make many incredible memories and meet amazing people who all share my love for Disney!

My DCP Acceptance Moment

IMG_4276

Written October 12, 2017:
One whole week! It’s surreal knowing that I was blessed almost a week ago (one week since I found out is at 3:50; one week since Disney sent the message is at 1:16) with my acceptance into the Disney College Program! I have done so much since then! I completed my payments, joined a bunch of Facebook pages, and talked to a lot of fun people!
I wish I could have recorded my reaction to my acceptance because it was so unexpected! I had signed up to volunteer at a retirement home to assist the people living there with their phones and computers for my sorority. I was showing a woman how to utilize her email and used my phone as an example. It’s important to know that my email on my phone is constantly lagging and it’s sometimes hours before I receive a message. After I showed her what she needed to do on her phone, we moved onto the next question she had. That’s when I saw the banner appear at the top of my screen. I read the sender’s address and saw wdw.college.recruiting and the subject line Disney College Program: Congratulations and I went still. I quickly went back to my email to confirm that what I had just read was correct. After verifying that I had indeed been accepted, I announced to my other sorority sister in the room that I had just been accepted!
It was truly the most incredible feeling, and I remember contacting my friends and family to announce my acceptance, and it was amazing seeing how happy everyone was for me because they knew this was my dream!
I’m so excited to share the rest of my journey with you so expect updates every week about the highlight of my process!

My DCP process

This is an old post from my last blog, but I’d love to share my DCP journey again with you all!

The DCP had always been a dream of mine. I applied for the first time in the fall of my freshman year, and I was advanced to the next step: the WBI or Web-Based Interview. Sadly that was where it ended for me that year.
The next time I applied was the fall of my junior year, and again I was advanced to the WBI. After completing the WBI, I was lucky enough to move on to the PI or Phone Interview. After completing my PI, I began waiting for my answer. Sadly I was denied for a second time two days before the final day decisions were to be made.
I applied that next spring again and for the first time, was placed in submission. Submission is when someone has reviewed your application but for any number of reasons, does not move you forward. I was eventually pulled out of submission, which doesn’t always happen, and moved on to the PI because my WBI was still valid. Once again I began waiting for my answer, only this time I had also completed a Character Audition. I was not offered either an entertainment or regular position with the program.
After applying and being denied three times, some people would have given up. I was not going to be one of those people. I applied once again this fall for my last possible shot to join the program since I am a senior who was supposed to graduate in the spring of 2018. I waited longer than my previous applications to apply so that I could completely focus on doing my best. Sadly, the two hurricanes that hit this past August and September delayed any response from Disney. However, once I received a response, it was good news! I moved on to the WBI and then to the PI. This time around I felt more confident in myself and my answers to the interviewer’s questions. I began waiting once again, but this time it wasn’t going to be as long.
On October 5, at 3:05 pm, while I was volunteering at a retirement home helping the residents learn how to better use their phones, my email connected and I received the most exciting email of my life! After so many tries, I had FINALLY been ACCEPTED to the Disney College Program.
The journey to this moment was long and filled with many disappointments, but finally receiving the YES I had been waiting for made it all worth it! I encourage everyone who reads this to continue pursuing your dreams and to never give up because it is so worth it in the end!
